Orchestra to open season, Oct. 19 and 21

The Princeton University Orchestra will open its 2006-07 concert season at 8 p.m. Thursday and Saturday, Oct. 19 and 21, in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall.
The orchestra, under the direction of Michael Pratt, will perform the music of Ludwig van Beethoven, Hector Berlioz and Antonin Dvorak.
The program will include: Beethoven's "Coriolan" Overture; three scenes from Berlioz' dramatic symphony "Romeo and Juliet"; and Dvorak's Symphony No. 8. The performances are this year's Edward T. Cone Memorial Concerts, honoring the late longtime Princeton music department faculty member and philanthropist.
