Students perform Dorfman play, Dec. 7-15

A student production of "Death and the Maiden," a play by Ariel Dorfman about Chile's transition to democracy, will be presented at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7-8, and Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 13-15, in the Matthews Acting Studio, 185 Nassau St.

A senior thesis production in the Program in Theater and Dance, the play is directed by senior Alex Ripp and features senior Dan Kublick.

Known for its portrayal of the struggle for human rights, "Death and the Maiden" was first produced in Dorfman's native Chile and has been staged in more than 30 countries.

Tickets are $8 for students, faculty, senior citizens and children, and $10 for others. They can be purchased on the University Ticketing website at
