Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9-10, 2008, various hours • Princeton University Art Museum

The Princeton University Art Museum will present "Mini Masters," a special exhibition of children's art inspired by works in the museum's collections and exhibitions, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9-10.

The exhibition celebrates the creativity of children from kindergarten through high school who have participated in the museum's educational and outreach programs. The works include:

  • Pieces created during "Art for Families," a Saturday morning program that engages young children with visual works of art in an effort to foster their creativity.
  • Artwork and journals of third-graders from the Trenton Public School District who participated in the museum's fall program focusing on cultures, civilizations, and art history and techniques.
  • Works by high school photography students from Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in Princeton who last fall toured the exhibition "Beloved Daughters: Photographs by Fazal Sheikh" and photographed their responses to Sheikh's images of the challenges confronting women in India.
  • Pieces by local middle school students who attended a November performance of "Colours of Autumn for String Orchestra" by the Princeton Symphony Orchestra and used the music as inspiration for their own artwork.

The exhibition will be open for viewing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 9 and 1 to 5 p.m. Feb. 10.
