Writers read from their work at Lewis Center

March 12 through May 7, 2008, 4:30 p.m. Stewart Film Theater, 185 Nassau St.
A number of established and emerging writers will be on campus in the coming weeks as part of the Program in Creative Writing's Althea Ward Clark Reading Series.

The readings will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Stewart Film Theater, located in the Lewis Center for the Arts at 185 Nassau St. A reception and book signing will take place in the lobby after each reading.

The schedule includes:

  • March 12 -- fiction writers Amy Hempel and Jennifer Egan.
  • March 26 -- novelist Claire Messud and poet Edward Hirsch.
  • April 9 -- fiction writers Gary Shteyngart and Rick Moody.
  • April 23 -- poets James McMichael and Lucie Brock-Broido.
  • April 30 -- students from the Program in Creative Writing.
  • May 6 -- seniors who have written creative theses in poetry and translation.
  • May 7 -- seniors who have written creative theses in fiction.
