L'Atelier, Princeton's French theater workshop, will perform Jean-Luc Lagarce's "Juste la fin du monde" at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Oct. 23-24, in the Matthews Acting Studio, 185 Nassau St.
The performance will be directed by Florent Masse, a senior lecturer in the Department of French and Italian who founded L'Atelier in 2001. This is the workshop's 12th full-length production in French, and the second of a major French contemporary play. The show will feature advanced students.
The play tells the story of Louis, a 34-year-old man who returns home to inform his family that he is dying. Throughout the tense visit, the audience sees a family fractured by lack of communication and insecurities, each member struggling to be heard and understood by the others.
The performance is sponsored by the Department of French and Italian. Admission is free, but reservations are encouraged. To reserve seats, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
