'Town hall meeting' planned on financial outlook

Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, 9 to 11 a.m. Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall

The third in a series of "town hall meetings," scheduled to provide an update on how present economic conditions are affecting the University's budget and review cost-savings initiatives, is set for 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall.

The session is open to all students, faculty and staff.

Presentations will be made by Provost Christopher Eisgruber, Executive Vice President Mark Burstein, Vice President for Finance and Treasurer Carolyn Ainslie and Vice President for Human Resources Lianne Sullivan-Crowley. There also will be a question-and-answer period.

The meeting is a follow-up to similar meetings held in March and June.

Two additional town hall meetings for students also are planned in the coming weeks. A town hall for graduate students is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, in 127 Corwin Hall. A town hall for undergraduate students is set for 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, in McCosh 10.
