Vigil planned for Southeast Asia, Samoa after disasters

A candlelight vigil for people affected by deadly natural disasters that have swept through parts of Southeast Asia and Samoa is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at the Davis International Center, 243 Frist Campus Center.
The event will include music and remarks from students and employees from the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia. It is open to all members of the University and local communities. Donations for relief organizations will be accepted.
The vigil is being organized by the University's International Community Employee Resource Group and sponsored by the Davis International Center and the Office of Religious Life.
