The Princeton women's basketball team has been chosen as a No. 11 seed in the 2010 NCAA Tournament and will face No. 6 seed St. John's in Tallahassee, Fla., in the first round. The teams will tip off at 12:21 p.m. Saturday, March 20, on ESPN 2.
The Frist Campus Center will host a viewing of the women's game, including food and prizes, in the West TV Lounge.
The men's team defeated Duquesne on Wednesday, March 17, in the College Basketball Invitational tournament and will play at Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis on Monday, March 22, at a time to be determined.
The Princeton women's team is 26-2 overall and earned the Ivy League automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after going undefeated, 14-0, in the league. This is the women's team's first trip to the NCAA Tournament, and it is the highest seed an Ivy League team ever has received in the tournament.
The winner will move on to the second round and face the winner of (3) Florida State/(14) Louisiana Tech. That game is slated for Monday, March 22, at a time to be determined.
This is the men's program's first postseason berth in six years. The victory over Duquesne was the team's first postseason victory since 1999.
All women's session tickets are $27 for adults and $17 for students. Single session tickets are $16 for adults and $11 for students.
