Slavic film series to screen 'Coming Out'
The 2013-14 Slavic film series "Out of the Iron Closet" opens with "Coming Out" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, in Room 100, Jones Hall. "Coming Out" (1989), the only feature film about gay life produced in communist East Germany, premiered on the same night the Berlin Wall came down. The series is sponsored by the Program in Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies, the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, and the Program in Gender and Sexuality Studies. Series films are shown with English subtitles.
