Lecture to cover new lasers that open up study of atomic and molecular science

Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, 4:30 p.m. Computer Science Building, Room 104

Claudio Pellegrini, distinguished professor of physics, emeritus, at the University of California-Los Angeles, will discuss the understanding of atomic and molecular science made possible by a new type of laser in his presentation, "The X-ray free-electron laser: Exploring matter at the angstrom-femtosecond space and time scales," at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, in the Computer Science Building, Room 104. The presentation is free to the public and sponsored by the Princeton Program in Plasma Science and Technology.
