Bliss to speak on 'Race Decoded'

Catherine Bliss of the University of California-San Francisco will give a talk "Race Decoded: New Paradigms and Problems of the 21st Century" at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, in East Pyne Hall, Room 010. Bliss will explore the move in the genomic sciences toward recasting race as a multifaceted entity worth understanding from a genomic perspective. The event is part of the inaugural lecture series "Asian American Studies Today and Tomorrow" sponsored by the Program in American Studies, the Program in Gender and Sexuality, the Department of English, the Department of Politics, the Department of Sociology, and the Office of the Dean of the College.
