Ashley Gorfine, who has extensive experience in the commercial printing industry, will become the next director of Princeton University's Print and Mail Services. She will start Aug. 17.

Gorfine most recently was the manufacturing supervisor for digital print at RR Donnelley, an international communication strategies firm that provides print, digital and supply chain services. She led a team of 35 employees that delivers printing services to a range of customers, and she oversaw department budgets, manufacturing efforts, operational needs, quality assurance systems and production issues.

"Ashley's background in the commercial print industry, as well as her focus on customer service, team-building skills and fiscal management, are qualities that will enable Print and Mail Services to grow and continue to serve our students, faculty and staff with the highest quality of services," said Amy Campbell, assistant vice president for University Services, to whom Gorfine will report.

Print and Mail Services provides a wide range of services to the University community, including: U.S. and campus mail delivery to University offices; mass mailings and direct mail assistance; digital printing and perfect binding; large-format printing; graphic design; and walk-in print and mail services. The department also manages the campus mailboxes and package pick-up services for undergraduate students.

Campbell said Gorfine's skills and background will complement the department.

"Ashley has a track record of building strong teams that are both customer service-based and focused on high-quality production," Campbell said. "Ashley and the members of the Print and Mail Services team will continue to build relationships across campus, and provide high-quality production and exceptional customer service. She will also lead the strategic planning process for the department to ensure it continues to meet the needs of our students, faculty and staff."

Gorfine said the chance to join Princeton's Print and Mail Services is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

"I am really looking forward to working with the wonderful team in the department and people across the University," she said. "I hope to be able to help take Print and Mail Services into the future. We would like to create a new brand identity to make sure everyone on campus knows we are here for all their service needs. It is not just about today, but about tomorrow."

Gorfine has extensive knowledge about a range of technical equipment and software used in commercial printing.

Before joining RR Donnelley in 2013, she worked for nearly 10 years at Strategic Content Imaging in Secaucus, New Jersey. As head of manufacturing, Gorfine directed more than 50 employees, led the development of manufacturing and improvement efforts, and maintained safety and efficiency standards. She also worked at the company as a press and bindery manager and a production scheduler, where her duties included researching new software, press room and bindery equipment; working with print and binding vendors to reduce costs; and scheduling thousands of client jobs per year.

Gorfine also has worked as a financial sales associate at Prudential. She earned her bachelor's degree in business administration and marketing from Pace University in Pleasantville, New York.
