Concentration: Ecology and Evolutionary Biology
Certificates: Environmental Studies and Hellenic Studies
Study Abroad: Junior Spring Semester in Kenya (Spring 2013)
Hello! I'm a rising senior in the EEB (Ecology and Evolutionary Biology) department, getting certificates in Environmental Studies and Hellenic Studies. I spent my spring semester abroad in Kenya (and I would love to talk you about my study abroad experience / study abroad in general, if you would like!), and I have spent the summer thus far collecting soil and water samples for my thesis, which is on nitrogen cycling in agricultural watersheds in the Mississippi Delta. I grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, so I am a fervent believer in the healing powers of pecan pie (or all southern comfort food, really). At least once a week, I turn into Dr. Dre-vika, my DJ-ing alter ego, and spin some mad funky [mostly housey] tunes for a few hours on WPRB, Princeton's student-run radio station. I also spend almost every Friday afternoon in Trenton, at GetSET, an after-school program, hanging out with some of the coolest kids on the block.
Favorite Courses: Archaic and Classical Greece (CLA/HIS 216), Advanced Analysis of Environmental Systems (ENV/EEB/CEE 302), Communicating Climate Change (ENV 316), Muslims and the Qur'an (NES 240), & The Evolution of Jazz Styles (MUS/AAS 262)
