Certificate: Values and Public Life
I'm a Psychology major from South Florida, interested mainly in persuasion, influence, and consumer behavior. While I have a good idea of what I want to study now, my first two years at Princeton were pretty much a scramble to figure it all out. Looking back, I'm glad that it wasn't all straightforward - otherwise, I might not have taken courses that turned out to be formative academic experiences. For one, I was lucky enough to take a freshman seminar on modern European art (FRS 144), in which our class traveled to Berlin for a week to visit art galleries and museums. My schedule experimentation also led me to take Intro to Moral Philosophy (PHI 202), which helped me realize that I wanted to get a certificate in Values and Public Life. After dabbling in several social science courses, I finally settled down in the Psychology department and am happier than ever.
Outside of the classroom, I'm very involved in Princeton's Marketing and Advertising group, Advertise This, and a PACE nonprofit group on campus called Music is Medicine.
I'm always happy to answer any questions you may have about academic life here at Princeton.
