Elizabeth Goodman receives Award for Outstanding Neuroscience Thesis with Clinical Relevance
Class of 2010 senior Elizabeth Goodman received the award for Outstanding Neuroscience Thesis with Clinical Relevance at the annual Neuroscience certificate class day ceremony. Elizabeth’s senior thesis was entitled “Race, Ethnicity, and Autism: Evaluating the Epidemiological, Genetic, Neurological, and Social Evidence”. Drawing on her personal interest in autism, Elizabeth, a Molecular Biology major, analyzed data on the prevalence of an autism diagnosis across cultures. Her faculty advisors were Professors Dan Notterman and Sam Wang. Elizabeth received a prize and was one of two students asked to present their senior thesis work at the class day ceremony. Elizabeth will be attending the University of Pennsylvania Medical School next year.
