Slideshow: Celebrating a beginning
Graduation activities marked the conclusion of students' time at Princeton, but also the dawn of an opportunity for members of the class of 2010 to, as President Shirley M. Tilghman put it in her address, "carry forward the spirit of Princeton and all that it has sought to teach you."
This slideshow highlights activities that started Thursday, May 27, when alumni returned for Reunions, and concluded Tuesday, June 1, with Commencement.
In between, a variety of events celebrated student and alumni accomplishments, ranging from class gatherings, theatrical performances and an art exhibition in Nassau Hall's Faculty Room at Reunions to the Baccalaureate Service, the Lavender, Pan-African and Latino graduations, the Hooding ceremony for advanced degree candidates and the commissioning ceremony for ROTC members. Veteran television journalist Charles Gibson, a 1965 Princeton alumnus, delivered the keynote address at Class Day. Those receiving honorary degrees at the Commencement ceremony included U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
