Water-use efficiency and water use effectiveness, a stomatal perspective using stable isotopes, Graham Farquhar
Graham Farquhar is Distinguished Professor and Leader of the Environmental Biology Group at the Research School of Biological Sciences, Australian National University, in Canberra. His lab research topics include: integration of photosynthesis and growth with nitrogen and water use of plants; stomatal physiology; isotopic composition of plants; and global change science. Professor Farquhar has published over 200 hundred scientific publications in the field, presented a multitude of invited lectures and talks and has been involved in over fifty scientific committees, societies and groups. Because of his phenomenal output and contribution to science, Farquhar has also received many honors and awards including fellowship to the Royal Society and the Australian Academy of Science, the P.L. Goldacre Award from the Australian Society of Plant Physiologists and the Leading Australian Citation Laureate for 2001. He was recently elected Foreign Associate of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.
