Nick Carnes wins third dissertation award from APSA
Nick Carnes, Princeton Politics PhD now an assistant professor at Duke University, has won a third award for his dissertation, APSA's Harold D. Lasswell Award for best doctoral dissertation in the field of Public Policy. Carnes’ winning doctoral dissertation “By the Upper Class, For the Upper Class? Representational Inequality and Economic Policymaking in the United States” explores the socioeconomic inequality that exists in Congress and its effects on economic policy outcomes. It is the basis for his forthcoming book, White-Collar Government: The Hidden Role of Class in Economic Policy Making (University of Chicago Press, November 2013).
