JPs & Senior Thesis
In order to fulfill the requirements for the A.B. degree, Politics concentrators must complete two junior papers and a senior thesis.
For the Classes of 2016 and 2017, the first junior paper is completed in the fall semester of the junior year as the product of a junior workshop. The second paper is completed in the spring semester of the junior year, under the supervision of a faculty member.
Effective with the Class of 2018, fall junior research workshops will, in addition to the small groups, include a plenary component that provides common instructions in research procedures and techniques. Instead of a paper, juniors will complete a series of assignments building up to a research prospectus. In the Spring semester, juniors will complete a junior paper under the supervision of a faculty member.
Work on the senior thesis typically begins during the summer before senior year, and is due in the spring semester of the senior year.
