Augusta Charter Township is a charter township of Washtenaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township population was 4,813.




According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.7 square miles (95.2 km²), all land.


As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 4,813 people, 1,728 households, and 1,384 families residing in the township. The population density was 131.0 per square mile (50.6/km²). There were 1,791 housing units at an average density of 48.7/sq mi (18.8/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 92.62% White, 5.28% African American, 0.33% Native American, 0.21% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 0.17% from other races, and 1.33% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.69% of the population.
