Burleigh County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Dakota. As of the official 2000 census, the population was 69,416. Its county seat is Bismarck.[1] Burleigh County and Morton County make up the "Bismarck, ND Metropolitan Statistical Area" or "Bismarck-Mandan".

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,668 square miles (4,320.1 km2), of which 1,633 square miles (4,229.5 km2) is land and 35 square miles (90.6 km2) (2.10%) is water.
