Chester Township is a civil township of Eaton County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,778 at the 2000 census.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.1 square miles (93.6 km²), of which, 36.1 square miles (93.6 km²) of it is land and 0.03% is water. Nearly all of the township is in the drainage basin of the Thornapple River, which flows through the northern part. The Little Thornapple River joins the Thornapple in section 11.
