Daviess County (pronounced /ˈdeɪviːz/) is a county located in the U.S. state of Indiana. As of 2000, the population was 29,820. The county seat is Washington[1]. Daviess County switched to the Central Time Zone on April 2, 2006. [2] It has returned to the Eastern Time Zone as of November 4, 2007. [3] [4]

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 437 square miles (1,131.8 km2), of which 431 square miles (1,116.3 km2) is land and 6 square miles (15.5 km2) (1.42%) is water.
