Dutton is a town in Teton County, Montana, United States. The population was 389 at the 2000 census.



Dutton is located at 47°50′51″N 111°42′52″W / 47.8475°N 111.71444°W / 47.8475; -111.71444 (47.847563, -111.714404)[1].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.8 km²), all of it land.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 389 people, 158 households, and 111 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,242.7 people per square mile (484.5/km²). There were 177 housing units at an average density of 565.5/sq mi (220.5/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 94.60% White, 0.26% African American, 1.29% Native American, 0.51% Asian, 1.54% from other races, and 1.80% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.83% of the population.

There were 158 households out of which 31.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.4% were married couples living together, 5.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.7% were non-families. 26.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 17.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.46 and the average family size was 2.99.

The age spread of the population is 27.5% under the age of 18, 3.1% from 18 to 24, 26.7% from 25 to 44, 25.2% from 45 to 64, and 17.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 90.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.3 males.
