Holbrook is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The population was 27,512 at the 2000 Census.



Holbrook is located at 40°47′59″N 73°4′32″W / 40.79972°N 73.07556°W / 40.79972; -73.07556 (40.799650, -73.075617)[1].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.8 square miles (17.7 km²), all land.


As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 27,512 people, 9,019 households, and 7,350 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 4,032.5 per square mile (1,557.5/km²). There were 9,157 housing units at an average density of 1,342.2/sq mi (518.4/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 89.1% White, 1.32% African American, 0.08% Native American, 2.87% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.69% from other races, and 1.05% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.9% of the population.
