Island Park is a village located in Nassau County, New York in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 4,732.[1] A 2005 estimate puts the population slightly higher at 4,741.[citation needed]

Island Park is located in the town of Hempstead.

It is also a landing point for Fiber-Optic Link Around the Globe which is a major worldwide Internet cable.

It is also known surf, athletics and waterside dining and dancing. A village on the bay with a mix of home styles and residents, Island Park is for all ages. Its schools, the Francis X. Hegarty elementary school and the Lincoln Orens Middle school rank amongst the highest in the state[citation needed] . The town and village are too small to have a high school so students have the ability to chose between two outstanding[citation needed] public high schools Long Beach High school and West Hempstead High School.

In 2007 the Village of Island Park residents, with the support of the village officials, started a very successful Neighborhood Watch program. The neighborhood watch started with two roads, Radcliffe and Suffolk roads and continues to spread throughout the village and the neighboring Harbor Isle. The neighborhood watch program introduces neighbors, their children, Village and Town of Hempstead officials, police and fire department personnel as well as creates a sense of community. Each year the Radcliffe and Suffolk Road neighborhood watch groups hold a "Neighborhood Watch Block Party". This block party is attended by the village officials, Councilman Anthony Santino, a representative of the POP unit of the police department distributes coloring books to the children and the Island Park Fire Department graciously gives the children rides on the fire truck.

In 2008 the residents of the village, Barnum Isle and Harbor Isle started the Island Park Civic Association. The association is open to all residents of the town of Island Park and unites all three areas as one. Meetings are held at the Island Park Library the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm. The Island Park Civic Association works towards the betterment of the entire town of Island Park.
