McLemoresville is a town in Carroll County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 259 at the 2000 census.

McLemoresville is located at 35°59′15″N 88°34′39″W / 35.9875°N 88.5775°W / 35.9875; -88.5775 (35.987380, -88.577368)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.9 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 259 people, 119 households, and 81 families residing in the town. The population density was 347.9 people per square mile (135.1/km²). There were 134 housing units at an average density of 180.0/sq mi (69.9/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 90.35% White, 6.18% African American, 0.39% Native American, 2.70% from other races, and 0.39% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.70% of the population.

There were 119 households out of which 24.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.3% were married couples living together, 7.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.1% were non-families. 30.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.18 and the average family size was 2.67.

In the town the population was spread out with 21.2% under the age of 18, 5.0% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 25.1% from 45 to 64, and 21.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females there were 100.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.3 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $29,318, and the median income for a family was $37,083. Males had a median income of $35,417 versus $24,167 for females. The per capita income for the town was $15,962. About 2.6% of families and 4.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including none of those under the age of eighteen and 9.6% of those sixty five or over.
