Omsk Oblast (Russian: О́мская о́бласть, Omskaya oblast) is a federal subject of Russia (an oblast), located in southwestern Siberia. The oblast has an area of 139,700 km² and a population of 2,079,220 (2002 Census);[1] with the majority, 1.1 million, living in Omsk, the administrative center. Omsk Oblsat is bordered by Tyumen Oblast in the north and west, the Novosibirsk and Tomsk oblasts in the east, and to the south by the Republic of Kazakhstan.
