Uniopolis is a village in Auglaize County, Ohio, United States with a population of 256 as of the 2000 U.S. census. It is included in the Wapakoneta, Ohio Micropolitan Statistical Area.

The village is served by the Wapakoneta City School District.

History

Uniopolis was founded in 1837.[3] Its former village hall, now a museum,[4] is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.[5]

Geography

Uniopolis is located at 40°36′7″N 84°5′12″W / 40.60194°N 84.08667°W / 40.60194; -84.08667 (40.601985, -84.086537)[6].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.4 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 256 people, 88 households, and 77 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,640.3 people per square mile (617.8/km²). There were 93 housing units at an average density of 595.9/sq mi (224.4/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.83% White, 0.39% African American, 0.39% Native American, and 0.39% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.17% of the population.

There were 88 households out of which 44.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.6% were married couples living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 12.5% were non-families. 10.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.91 and the average family size was 3.08.
