During performance analysis using the TetrUSS computational fluid dynamics (CFD) program, the CAD model of our plane must undergo a process known as grid generation. The program creates a geometric mesh around the model at varying distances until it fills the entire volume around it with tetrahedrons. It later solves Navier-Stokes equations along these polygon boundaries to find the flow characteristics. During the buildup of this mesh, however, there can be errors in the grid which leave pockets that must be closed through local remeshing and iteration. These red shapes are pockets left over after the first round of grid generation.
