Canopy Crane
Kathryn Fiorella ‘06
Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology
“Canopy Crane” was taken in Parque Metropolitano, a tropical dry forest located just outside of Panama City, Panama. The canopy crane pictured is a tool of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. The crane pivots 360 degrees around the central tower and can be raised and lowered to give researchers a new perspective on the forest. On the EEB semester abroad for tropical field study, Parque Metropolitano was among the first forests students visited in February 2005.
