This file helps explain the survey results in "votedata.xls." The results are splitted into 7 worksheets. The first 5 worksheets were all collected through SurveyMonkey but were recruited from several sources. We used labels to separate these (and dates in some cases). The sixth sheet was collected through a Mechanical Turk interface, and the seventh sheet was collected using Qualtrix. The following key explains the first five sheets and most of sheet seven (six is self explanatory): Column A-K: The names of the candidates, with their party label (r for Republican, d for Democrat and l for Liberal/Independent) and the rating by each participant. Note that blank cells indicate "no rating", which is different from a rating of 0. Column L and the rest: Additional information provided by participants. The "id" column for Survey Monkey results indicate duplicate IP addresses. Duplicate IPs have the same id number. We did not remove duplicate IPs since different persons may be using the same computer.
