Submission Guidelines
The following are the guidelines governing submissions of material to the EBDSA. These are experimental, and may change (as indeed they now have) when we discover them lacking or discover better methods. Please bear with us as we begin the undertaking. LENGTH: Submissions must be no more than 1500 words in length. (This upper limit is rigidly adhered to.) SUBJECT: Any Dantean subject is welcome. EDITORIAL DECISIONS: These will be made by the editor-in-chief in consultation with the other members of the editorial board. In response to the particular nature of the subject of the contribution, further advice may be sought from the rest of the universe of Dante scholars. Most of these decisions are made within days or weeks of submission. FORMAT OF SUBMISSIONS: Submissions should be in Microsoft Word 2000+ or WordPerfect 9+. These must be sent to: Submissions not arriving in electronic form will be discarded. CONVENTIONS: In general (and when applicable) we follow the conventions of Dante Studies, the journal of the Dante Society of America. Particular divergences necessitated by electronic publication include the following:
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS: contributors retain in full the rights to their work. If they choose to publish it elsewhere EBDSA requires only that prior publication in electronic form be acknowledged. However, please do NOT submit previously published work to EBDSA. 16 December 1995 (revised 14 March 2005)
DIRECTIONS FOR RESPONDENTS: Those who would like to respond to material published in EBDSA are invited to consult the conventions that govern submissions by our authors, as these will apply equally to responses. Please note that only material submitted in the proper electronic form will be considered. Non-conforming material will not be returned to those who submit it; notice to this effect will be sent when conditions so allow. We regret any inconvenience that these rules may cause. |
