Previous: Hardcopy Output Specific Environment
A number of environment variables are available in order to control the graphical
aspects of the program. The preferred method of controlling these features is via resources; please refer
to Section B.1 for details.
The following environment variables have no equivalent resource:
- FV_LOWRES
FV_LOWRES is used in order to force the use of a small character size.
If it is set equal to true then small characters will be used always, instead of just
for multiviewport output. FV_LOWRES is set to false by default. This environment
variable is mainly of use when working on a low resolution screen such as a PC.
- FV_XDUMP
This environment variable is only recognised by workstations running
the X Window System. By default, the option
UTILITY SETUP PLOTTER FORMAT HARDCOPY
will create a screen dump file in ZPixmap format; this
format may be changed to XYPixmap by setting FV_XDUMP to the
string XY. Please refer to your local X Windows documentation for
details concerning Pixmap formats.
