Results Limitations

  This interface currently places the following limits on ABAQUS models handled:-

• Models with 'CAXA' and 'SAXA' type elements have the following limitations: The maximum element number is 1666667 and the total number of nodes is limited to 1666667.
• The maximum number of INTER8, INTER9 and some gasket elements, see Paragraph 2.1.2, that can be handled is 4000. If more than this are present topology and results for the first 4000 elements are transferred and the rest ignored.
• The maximum number of gauss point coordinates that can be stored is 100000. If this limit is exceeded the program will continue without all the gauss points and the missing coordinates will be set to 0.
• The maximum element number that can be transferred is 9999999. For numbers with more than 5 digits and if the option to write to a FEMVIEW neutral file is chosen, it is necessary to set the environment variable FV_POST_FOR to 10 prior to executing Postabaqus.

All of these limits may be increased if required.

This is achieved by changing the value in the PARAMETER statement in the main routine of the interface. If you require assistance in raising these limits, please contact your support centre.
