FEMVIEW identifies subcases by a 6 character `load case' name. The interface program will generate the load case names without recourse to the user. The general convention used in preparing the names is that the first character of the name is an `L' followed by the subcase number.
FEMVIEW accepts a twenty character descriptor attached to the load case name. This is obtained from the first twenty characters of the NASTRAN subcase label.
For solutions using cyclic symmetry the loadcase name generated indicates from which segment the results apply.

For example, for the fourth load case of the sixth segment of a
rotational model the loadcase name generated will be `L4S6', if this was the left
hand side of a dihedral model the name will be `L4S6L'. IT
is recommended that for cyclic solutions that the subcase number be
less than 100.
For eigenvector results the load case name will be prefixed by an `E' instead of an `L'.
For load vector results the load case name will be prefixed by an `V' instead of an `L'.
For grid point balance results the load case name will be prefixed by an `G' instead of an `L'.
For forces of single point constraint results the load case name will be prefixed by an `S' instead of an `L'.
For displacements in local systems the load case name will be prefixed by an `N' instead of an `L'.
For surface and volume stresses the load case name is altered to include the surface or volume identifier and for surface results to indicate which physical surface the results are for. For subcase 8 and volume set 3 the loadcase name will be `L8V3'. For subcase 4, surface set 5 topsurface the loadcase name will be `S4T5'.
Whenever a result set is written to the FEMVIEW input file the header is echoed to the terminal and to the Monitor file.
