Reserved Entity Names

The interface groups all elements into property groups and assigns a name to the property set beginning with 'PHY' and ending in a number e.g. 'PHY1' for the first property set etc.

Similar rules apply to local axis system names, variable node solids, spring elements, etc. The user should thus avoid using any such names during the modelling process. The reserved names are as follows (where 'n' is an integer 1-99999):

• NLXn (Reserved for Local Axis Systems)
• VNSn (Reserved for Variable Node Solids)
• SPRn (Reserved for Elastic Supports)
• PHYn (Reserved for Element Property Groups)
• LODn (Reserved for Load Sets)
• ALL (Reserved for Grouping Element Property Groups)
• XXn (Reserved for some MPC definitions)

The interface program will issue a warning if the user has generated any entities in FEMGEN which fall into any of the above categories. It is then up to the user to decide whether to make any changes in order to avoid possible set name conflicts in the ABAQUS input file

The following set names can be used in FEMGEN but have a special meaning to the interface, (where 'n' is an integer 0-9, and * can be any printable character):

• RSnn ( Reserved for Rigid Surfaces)
• SLnn ( Reserved for Slide Lines)
• RBODY*** ( Reserved for Rigid Bodies)
• SURF**** ( Reserved for Contact Surfaces )
• FLUID*** ( Reserved for Fluid Elements )
• ELSET*** ( Reserved for User Defined Element Sets )
• NSET**** ( Reserved for User Defined Node Sets )
• GPS***** ( Reserved for Generalised Plane Strain Elements )

The interface program will issue a warning if sets begining with 'RS' or 'SL' do not follow the above conventions.

The following point names can be used in FEMGEN but have a special meaning to the interface, (where * can be any printable character):

• GPSX**** ( Reserved for the Additional Nodes of Generalised Plane Strain Elements )
