It is sometimes useful to create a node which is not part of the actual model but which is used to reference parts of the model. Typical applications would be one end of a fluid link element (see section 2.10 ), one end of a spring element, one end of an MPC equation etc.
Point element variant 10 (NODE-GEN) should be used in this case. FEMGEN will generate a node at this point, and transfer the node (but not the element) to the ABAQUS input file. The user is then free to reference this point in FEMGEN.
