The property values for Hughes-Liu beams are defined as follows:

Where:

| t2y | = | Thickness in local y direction at node 2 |
| t1z | = | Thickness in local z direction at node 1 |
| t2z | = | Thickness in local z direction at node 2 |
| NSLOC | = | Location of reference surface normal to s axis (optional, default is 0) |
| NTLOC | = | Location of reference surface normal to t axis (optional, default is 0) |
| SHRF | = | Shear factor (optional, default is 1) |
| IRID | = | Integration rule (optional, default is 2) |
| CST | = | Cross section type (optional, default is 0) |
This data may be supplemented by a beam orientation definition via the command:
PROPERTY PHYSICAL BEAM-PRP [property_name] ORIENT X Y Z
in which the user specifies the direction of the beam local z axis.
