Error and Warning conditions

When the FEMGEN to PATRAN interface processes a FEMGEN model it will perform a variety of data checks and will issue error and warning messages where data defined in FEMGEN is found to be invalid for PATRAN. Where invalid data is found the interface will produce a message on the screen and where possible continue.

The following error and warning messages are possible:

ERROR: INVALID ELEMENT TYPE ON PART name

ERROR: NO PHYSICAL PROPERTY ON PART name
All beam elements require a physical property definition.

ERROR: NO MATERIAL ON PART name
All elements require a material definition.

ERROR: CANNOT FIND LOCAL Y FOR ELEMENT name
The beam orientation vector has been incorrectly defined.

ERROR: INVALID LOCAL AXIS SYSTEM name

ERROR: CANNOT FIND LOADED FACE FOR LOAD name
The user has probably loaded an internal face or the edge of a brick element.

ERROR: NO ELEMENTS FOR LOAD name
A load has been applied to a part with no element definitions.

ERROR: INVALID PART/IDOF FOR LOAD name
The rules in the previous chapter must be adhered to.

ERROR: INVALID HYDROSTATIC LOAD name
The user has probably defined a linear variation between the same two points.

ERROR: NO NODES FOR LOAD name
A load has been applied to a part with no nodes.

ERROR: EDGE LOADS ON BRICKS NOT SUPPORTED

ERROR: INVALID D.O.F. FOR LOAD name
An invalid degree of freedom was entered.

ERROR: INVALID LOAD DEFINITION FOR LOAD name

ERROR: WORK ARRAY OVERFLOW IN NSPAT, CURRENT SIZE number
ERROR: WORK ARRAY OVERFLOW IN NVPAT, CURRENT SIZE number
ERROR: WORK ARRAY OVERFLOW IN PPAT, CURRENT SIZE number
These errors can occur with very large models (40,000+ Nodes/Elements). Under such circumstances please consult your local FEMGV distributor in order to increase the interface limits.

WARNING: SOME LOADED FACES ARE INVALID FOR LOAD name
