Preface

This manual is a User Guide to version 2 of the FEMGEN to PATRAN Interface Program. The software described in this manual is compatible with FEMGV versions 4 and above and PATRAN. The interface program is incorporated within FEMGEN and when the PATRAN environment is selected some of the FEMGEN menus will be altered in order to allow access to PATRAN data types.

This new release of FEMGV with the PATRAN interface incorporates the following new features:

• Selection of PATRAN element types by name, on the command line, and in the FEMGEN menus.
• Definition of constraints by name (e.g. X, RX etc.).
• Definition of complex loading conditions.
