The interface will only produce an input deck if all or part of the model has been meshed in FEMGEN. Once the model has been meshed, the interface may be run using the FEMGEN command 'UTILITY WRITE PATRAN [filename]'. The file name is optional and the default name is 'modelname.anl'. When the user supplies a file name with no extension, the extension '.anl' will be automatically added.
The user will then be prompted to confirm writing to a new file or overwriting to an old file and should respond 'Y' or 'N' as appropriate.
The interface then proceeds to scan the FEMGEN database and create a PATRAN Neutral file. Where problems are encountered the program will issue error and warning messages to the screen but will continue to process data into the Neutral File. See Chapter 3 for a list of possible error messages and their causes.
Upon completion the program will generate the following message:
PATRAN NEUTRAL FILE CREATED
THIS MESSAGE DOES NOT IMPLY THE CORRECT TRANSLATION OF A MODEL AND SHOULD ALWAYS BE CONSIDERED WITH REFERENCE TO ANY ERROR OR WARNING MESSAGES.
