The program is generally started with desktop icon via a menu or with a `femgv` from the command line.

To exit from the program use the command STOP.
If the FEMGEN model has been changed then the user is asked if the work performed in the current session is to be saved, otherwise it only necessary to confirm that the program is to be stopped.
