13.4.1 Creating the picture files for animation

A FEMVIEW input file called ANIMATE.FVI exists in the demo directory which contains the results of a natural frequency analysis.

Step 1 Start FEMGV

Start FEMGV, read the file into the database and access the model ANIM with FEMVIEW.

Step 2 Tabulate loads

Tabulate the loads to see what results are available and choose a mode to animate, mode 4 has been used in the creation of this example. (Only nodal displacements will in fact be available)

Step 3 Select results

Select the loadcase and the nodal displacements.

Step 4 Select a suitable view

Rotate the model to a suitable view.

Step 5 Display the animation sequence

  Display the animation sequence with

    DRAWING ANIMATE MODESHAPE STEPS 5

This will generate a series of views showing stages of deformation of the model and will then display the views cyclically.

(If a series of loadcases have been selected then the animation takes place over the loadcases.)
