Requesting a Maestro (Tivoli Workload Scheduler) id
There
are three parts to creating a new Maestro id.
1.
A
Unix logon id – created by Platform Services
2.
An
entry in the Maestro Security File - created by Enterprise Systems Management
3.
Access
to the Maestro GUI’s via a vnc session - created by Platform Services together
with Enterprise Systems Management
Note:
1. For a Unix login id or a new vnc session, open a help desk request in the Platform Services Unix incoming queue. For a new entry in the Maestro Security File, open a help desk request in the ESM-Incoming queue.
2. The Unix id must exist on every server on which jobs are expected to run.
3. The
vnc sessions will be replaced by a Java-based client (JSC) some time in the
first half of 2001.
To
request a new Unix id and supply the following:
1.
A
list of all servers you expect to be running jobs on
2.
The
name of the id you wish to use – for your guidance it should reflect some
reality connected with the work you are engaged in Example: pshrbnpy – peoplesoft
human resources benefits and payments.
To
request the id be added to Maestro, you will need to supply
1.
The
name of the id you wish to use
2.
A
list indicating the initial letters (two or more) you expect to use in naming
your jobs and schedules
3.
Maestro
access requirements – for example display only, creating submitting jobs or
schedules, releasing dependencies, creating or submitting jobs using another
login id. If you are aware of an existing id, which already has the rights you
need, it is enough to name it.
To
request an additional Maestro GUI session (via vnc,) you will need to supply:
1.
The
name of the existing Maestro id
The assumption here is that you already have an existing Maestro id but need access to the Maestro GUI for another user.
