Pyne Tower

Between Procter Hall and the Old GC Common Room sits Pyne Tower, named for donor Moses Taylor Pyne. On the first floor of the tower lies a vestibule graced by a large fire place with four humorous depictions of scholars and the more somber Memorial Window. It commemorates six graduate students who lost their lives during the First World War. The bay windows on the second and third floor belong to Pyne Tower Suite, the apartment of the administrator in residence, formerly known as the Master's Suite. ~ * ~ With its southern exposure, the bay window in the living room lets in a beautiful warm light and offers a view of Springdale golf course and the GC volley ball field.

One cannot but enjoy the fine masonry work and wood carving around the fire place in the living room of Pyne Tower Suite.
