Load Control

The use of the signal from the loadcell in the control feedback loop permits the load/time history of the sample to be controlled. In order to operate safely in this mode, it is important to arrange for control to be transferred to POSITION CONTROL (or the apparatus stopped) if the sample fails. Setting the allowed maximum and minimum values of the load, and enabling an Event Detector to effect this control transfer will ensure safe operation. If this is not done, the servo will attempt to change its position to maintain the load at the requested value. This will cause the hydraulic piston to hit the end of its range and damage the machine.

WHEN USED IN LOAD CONTROL, THE EVENT DETECTOR MUST BE SET TO TRANSFER CONTROL TO POSITION CONTROL WHEN THE SAMPLE FAILS
