Boiling Transition

The liquid - vapor transition is
frequently referred to as a "boiling
transition." At a constant pressure this phase change takes place at a constant temperature, the boiling point. The boiling temperature is dependent on the ambient pressure, decreasing as the pressure decreases below atmospheric andincreasing for super-atmospheric pressures. For water, this data issummarized in "Properties of Saturated Water (liquid-vapor) Tables," or "Steam Tables."
