Pressure Control Weights

The pressure cooker is provided with 4 weights.
The pressure may be controlled by placing zero
weights, the base weight, base plus one, two or
three ring weights, on the vent stem. It will take
some time for the system to come to a new
equilibrium state after the weight on the stem is
changed. Follow the temperature and pressure during this period and plot this transient data together with the steady state values.

Do NOT Remove Weights with the system on the Hot Plate. Weight Removal will cause an EXPLOSIVE Phase Change driven by the Internal Energy of the Water
