Valve for Depressurization

This valve permits the pressurized combustion products to be vented to the atmosphere before the lid is removed from the calorimeter. The valve must be closed (only "finger tight") before the bomb is pressurized. When putting the bomb in the water in the calorimeter can, check to see if gas is leaking from this valve. A steady stream of bubbles from the valve will indicate a leak. If a leak is detected, gently tighten the valve and try again. If the leak persists, get help!
